It aims to bring together the members of the UK space community to take part in lectures, panel discussions, networking opportunities, a careers fair as well as many other events. So if you are in academia, industry or government, if you are a student or educator, or if you are simply a space enthusiast, we look forward to seeing you there!

Nominations open for the Arthur C Clarke Awards.

Nominations are submitted by the public and the winners are voted for by representatives of the space industry, research institutions & universities, and space-related organisations.
The categories are:

Best TV/Radio Presentation
Best Written Presentation
Best Space Reporting
Achievement in Education

Submitted by UKRA on Tue, 28/08/2007 - 11:48.It seems that the media interest in this rocket is continuing; Meridian TV are seeking video of the launch to accompany a piece they are doing on Mr. Brown and his exploits - and they are willing to pay for it! From past experience it may not be much, but at least you would get a nice credit on TV

Winning UKAYRoC team attends TARC

Team with BuzzThe UKAYRoC winning team from Buttershaw Enterprise College in Bradford attended the Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC) finals near Washington DC. The UK winners were warmly received by the 100 TARC teams and had an enjoyable day watching the competition. During the afternoon they successfully demonstrated their rocket to the other teams, VIPs and spectators.
The team were introduced to Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin who congratulated them on their success.
During their stay in Washington the team visited the major tourist sites including the White House and the Lincoln Memorial.
MPs urged to back space tourism

Virgin GalacticVirgin Galactic has urged the Commons Science and Technology Committee to allow it to launch passenger flights from the UK. They propose sites in either Scotland or Cornwall.
35 Britons have already paid a deposit and signed up for a flight on SpaceShipTwo, they will be required to undergo 3 days training before taking the trip which lasts appoximately 2.5 hours.
