What are good books to get to learn about rocketry?

The following books are useful for rocketry in general:

  • The Handbook of Model Rocketry - G. Harry Stine
  • - Don't be fooled by the title. This is the definitive book for rocketeers. The bible of rocketry would be a more apt name for this book. Buy it.

  • Second Stage Advanced Model Rocketry - Michael A. Banks
  • - Covering mid-power rocketry rather than model rocketry, this book also includes a number of useful electronic circuits for payloads, as well as computer programs.

  • Modern High Power Rocketry - Mark Canepa
  • - Now in its 2nd edition, provides tips and advice on building your Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 High Power Rockets. Contains helpful case histories and interviews from rocketeers all over the world, including the UK.

  • Rocket Propulsion Elements - G. Sutton
  • - This text book is known as the bible of rocket propulsion scientists and engineers, and with good reason. Covering everything you need to know about solid rocket motors, hybrid rocket motors and liquid rocket engines, it is not for the faint hearted.
