After use, the rocket motor should be soaked in warm soapy water, and as much of the internal residue as possible should be removed with a stiff brush. The motor should then be cleaned with paper towels or similar, to remove any remaining residue. The best way to remove the residue seems to be to use Alcohol based wet wipes.

The black powder residue left over from the ejection well, is best removed with acidic lime scale removing solutions (N.B. Always use gloves with caustic chemicals such as these).

It is recommended to clean the casing as soon as is practical. Do not store used casings for lengthy periods without cleaning. They are much easier to clean soon after launch.
