UKRA membership types
UKRA currently offers the following memberships
Full Senior Membership:
Age 18+, paying the full UKRA/BMFA membership rate.
- Can fly rockets of up to "M-class" insured, depending on UKRA certification level
- Receive UKRA Publications.
- On joining, receive a a UKRA Membership Handbook.
- As a UKRA member, can use the UKRA HQ for National and Local Launch Events.
- UKRA Certification Levels achieved as a Full UKRA Members are recognised Internationally, enabling UKRA Members to fly rockets internationally to their UKRA Certification Level (subject to local laws regarding rocket motor use). This includes countries such as the U.S.A, Canada as well as countries within Europe.
- Gains BMFA membership when joining UKRA.
- Have full UKRA voting rights
- Can stand for election to the UKRA Council
- Can apply to become a UKRA Range Safety Officer
Full Junior Membership:
Age under 18 years, who pay a lower UKRA/BMFA rate, they can vote but cannot stand for election or apply to become a safety officer.
Associate membership:
Non flyers,
Family membership:
The UKRA Family Membership offers a choice of
either both BMFA & UKRA membership or UKRA Associate Membership for the family at
substantially reduced rates. Family membership and can include a Senior Adult, their
partner and children (if under 18 years).
The senior family member automatically receives full UKRA and BMFA Membership
including third party flying insurance. You can then choose, for each of the other family
members, whether they have Full UKRA/BMFA membership and flight insurance or UKRA Family
Associate membership (nonflyer). So you can now decide the membership level for
each family member to suit your needs. The whole family can benefit from BMFA
membership/insurance or the rest of the family can join as associates or in fact any
combination in between !
Schools and Youth group Membership:
This membership scheme is only open to recognised Schools and Youth groups whose
members are all under 18 years. The scheme provides the Group with a cost efective third
party flying insurance.
The scheme operates with a lead Adult, normaly the Teacher or Group leader who must be
over 18 and a number of child/youth places. The lead Adult is a Full UKRA/BMFA member The
Adult and each child are covered for their flying activities by the BMFA's Insurance. You
do not have to nominate specific children just the number who will be flying. The lead
Adult is charged the Full UKRA membership rate, currently £37 and each child place
is £6.
