International Rocket Week 2010 - IRW 2010 - will be held from Monday 23rd to Monday 30th August (the Summer Bank Holiday Monday in England and Wales).

The event Sites will be -

Base Camp at South Whittlieburn Farm (SWF), Brisbane Glen, Largs, Ayrshire, Scotland.

Flying Site at the Fairlie Moor Rocket Site (FMRS) 9 miles (14.5 Km) south, by road, of the SWF Base Camp. The altitude ceiling (waiver) at the FMRS for IRW 2010 rocket flying will be 16,000 Feet (4,867 Metres) AMSL, and the Site is 820 Feet (250 Metres) AMSL. (AMSL = Above Mean Sea Level)

Bookings for B&B Rooms, fixed Caravans, pitches with power hook-ups for Caravans/Mobile Homes brought to SWF, and for Tent pitches (limited power hook-up for Tents is available) at SWF will open for IRW 2010 in January, immediately after the New Year Holidays.

Special Announcement: The very adverse weather experienced over the IRW 2009 dates resulted in a number of participants not being able to fly their rockets, either due to lack of time, or feeling that to do so would be inadvisable in the persistent wind even when there was no rain. In view of this, all those who paid their Flyer's Fee at IRW 2009 but who did not in fact get to fly will not be asked to pay a Flyer's Fee at IRW 2010. However, a small charge towards covering the cost of hiring the Barn as covered workshop and social space will be asked for. I hope that all concerned will think that this is a fair and reasonable thing to do.
