SpaceX Achieve Orbit with Falcon 1
Submitted by Mike Roberts on Mon, 29/09/2008 - 09:05.Internet millionaire Elon Musk has finally done it with the sucessful launch in to orbit of his Falcon 1 rocket this morning. It was the 4th attempt with the previous 3 having failed.
Congratulations to SpaceX it is an awesome achievement.

UKAYRoC Registration Open
The registration for the UKAYRoC 2009 challenge is now open. For more information on the challenge and how to register please visit the new and improved UKAYRoC website.
UKRA is running Rocketry Introduction sessions for teachers and youth group leaders at various clubs around the UK. We have dates from 3 clubs at this time and will be adding more in the coming weeks.
At this time we have Intro sessions in Cambridgeshire, South Wales and Lancashire.
If you would like to attend a session then please fill in our Youth Rocketry Introduction Form so we know where and when to expect you.
IRW 2008 goes ahead

- Flying will be at the Fairlie Moor Site, where on-site cover is being organised.
- South Whittlieburn Farm will provide camping space, plus Caravan plus B&B, as vacancies allow.
- We have the use of a Barn with electric light and power at South Whittlieburn Farm

On the morning of Wednesday the 23rd of July, Pim Heydt, former president and one of the first members of Tripoli the Netherlands, died in the age of 53. Pim died as a result of complications after a heart arrest / attack he suffered last week.
New Head of Youth Outreach

UKRA can today announce some changes to its Youth Outreach scheme; Phil Charlesworth – long time head of the programme – is stepping down to concentrate on other commitments and will be replaced by Rod Stevenson.
