Competition for A level students to work with NASA

NESTA are giving two students the chance to win the trip of a lifetime, joining NASA to look for life at the edge of space.

As part of their education programme NESTA is offering two A-level students the opportunity to take part in a research trip to NASA and the Black Rock Desert in Nevada, USA.

UKRA at the London Model Engineering Show - Alexandra Palace - This weekend! 22nd to 24th January 2010

UKRA will be at the London Model Engineering Show this weekend; Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Opening hours are 10 am to 5pm Friday and Saturday and 10am to 4pm Sunday.

If you would like to find out more about rocketry, get a chance to see some of our rockets and talk to some rocketeers about rocketry then this is a great opportunity.

UKRA S&T Chair talks about his work on the STERN motor

The excellent SPACE.CO.UK site has a very interesting interview with UKRA's own chair of S&T, Richard Osborne, discussing his involvement with Reaction Engines development work on their STERN motor. This uses a novel ED (Expansion Deflection) nozzel which compenstaes for atmospheric pressure changes with altitude.

SpaceX Achieve Orbit with Falcon 1

Internet millionaire Elon Musk has finally done it with the sucessful launch in to orbit of his Falcon 1 rocket this morning. It was the 4th attempt with the previous 3 having failed.

Congratulations to SpaceX it is an awesome achievement.

UK Space Conference (Formarly BROHP) opens 2008 Registration.

UK Space Conference (UKSC) 2008 will take place on 27-29th March at Charterhouse School near Godalming, Surrey. It aims to bring together the members of the UK space community to take part in lectures, panel discussions, networking opportunities, a careers fair as well as many other events. So if you are in academia, industry or government, if you are a student or educator, or if you are simply a space enthusiast, we look forward to seeing you there!
